Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 August 2026

This policy explains how Pocket Sounds ("we", "us") handles information in our apps, including Guitarium. We keep it short because we collect very little.

The short version

What we collect

Anonymous usage analytics. We use Google Analytics for Firebase to see how the app is used in aggregate: which drills are practiced, how long sessions last, which tools (tuner, metronome, scales, songs) get used. This includes:

This data is pseudonymous and is not used to track you across other apps or websites. We do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA).

What stays on your device

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. Your subscription status is verified on-device via Apple's StoreKit.

This website

pocketsoundapps.com sets no cookies, shows no ads, and contains no third-party tracking or advertising scripts. Two things measure it, both described below.

Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views. It records the page opened, the referring site, and coarse device and country information, all in aggregate, and does not fingerprint your browser.

Our own measurement. We also record a small number of events ourselves, so we can tell which parts of the site are useful: a page being opened, a link being pressed, a section coming into view, and roughly how far down the page you read. Each event is stored with:

That is the whole list. There is no name, no email, no account, no advertising identifier, and nothing that follows you to another website. The data is stored by us on Cloudflare's infrastructure and is not shared with anyone.

Some links here (the ones under /go/ and /dl/) pass through a short redirect so we can count how often they get used. Those carry no identifier for you.

Our legal basis in the EEA and the UK is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in understanding whether our own website works. You can object at any time using the switch below.

Turning website measurement off

The switch below stops this site from recording anything about your visit. It works immediately, applies to this browser, and is remembered until you clear your browser storage. We also honour Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track automatically: if your browser sends either signal, nothing is recorded and you do not need to do anything here.

Third parties

In the app, the only third party that receives data is Google (Firebase Analytics), which processes the anonymous usage data described above. On this website it is Cloudflare, which hosts the site, provides Cloudflare Web Analytics, and stores our own event records as a processor on our behalf. See Firebase's privacy and security information, Google's Privacy Policy and Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. Apple processes purchases and (optionally) iCloud sync under Apple's Privacy Policy.

Your choices

Data retention

Aggregated, anonymous app analytics are retained by our analytics provider for a limited period and then deleted automatically. The website event records described above are deleted automatically after 90 days. On-device and iCloud data persist until you delete the app or clear it from iCloud.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK you have the right to access, correct, erase and object to the processing of your personal data, and to complain to your local data protection authority. The website records described above contain no identifier that outlives your browser tab, so in practice we have no way to find "your" rows after a visit ends — which also means there is nothing about you left to hand over or delete. For anything in the app, or for any question about this, email hello@pocketsoundapps.com.

Children

Guitarium is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
